Why do both the registered address and the responsible person's household address receive official letters? What should I know about correspondence?

A company's "registered address" is like an individual's "household registration address": it is the place for service of government documents. Once someone signs for a document there, the company is deemed notified. If the government thinks the responsible person should also know, a copy is sent to their household address.

For example, the incorporation letter: the registered address receives the full "city government incorporation letter + registration form", and the responsible person's household address receives a "copy of the incorporation letter" (without the form). This is because there have been many cases of companies set up using stolen identities, and the copy notifies the responsible person directly as a safeguard.

Three addresses are used during incorporation

  • The company's "registered address": city government letters, tax bureau letters and most future government notices go here, so make sure mail can be received.
  • The responsible person's "household address": copies of the incorporation letter, and possibly copies of special matters later.
  • The "mailing address": documents requiring "payment" (labor/health insurance bills, traffic fines, etc.) can usually be sent to a separately designated mailing address. Paper documents we send also go to the mailing address you give us.

For clients whose labor/health insurance unit we set up, we also configure the mailing address so bills go where it is most convenient. Let us know whenever your contact person or mailing address changes.
