Must capital be verified by a CPA? Can a deposit balance certificate substitute?

Updated 2026-09-19

Two cases:

  • Company (limited company or company limited by shares): regardless of the amount, Article 7 of the Company Act and the capital verification rules require CPA verification. You provide a copy of the passbook and the original deposit balance certificate to the CPA. The balance certificate is only supporting evidence for the verification and cannot replace it.
  • Business (sole proprietorship or partnership, e.g. a studio): capital of NT$250,000 or less needs no proof of capital; above NT$250,000, proof of capital is required but CPA verification is not.

When we handle your incorporation, we arrange the verification as part of the service; you do not need to find a CPA separately.
