What do I need to apply for a "fixed asset" VAT refund?
Updated 2026-09-19
If the company bought fixed assets or equipment during a VAT period and the period ends with a credit (no VAT to pay), you can apply for a fixed asset refund.
How much is refunded?
- Refund limit = input tax on the fixed asset invoice (sales amount × 5%)
- Current credit "greater than" the fixed asset input tax → the "fixed asset input tax" is refunded
- Current credit "less than" the fixed asset input tax → only the "credit" can be refunded; in this case we suggest not applying and keeping the credit (it can be used until exhausted)
Documents to prepare (reminder: payment must be made in the company's name)
- Input invoice with the company tax ID (tell us when you receive the invoice that you want to apply)
- Proof of payment from the company account (transfer record, copy of check, etc.)
- Contract or purchase order with matching amounts
- Company bank account cover (the refund is paid into this account)
- For vehicles (dual-use or cargo) or motorcycles, also a copy of the registration
